Before Class
1) Those cell phones! Please turn them all off and leave them in the locker room . They do not like yoga and they do not want to come into the yoga studio.
2) Drink lots of water throughout the day before coming to class. Hydration is very important. The rule of thumb is at least 1/2 your body weight in ounces each day.

3) Make sure to sign the Log when you arrive. We like to know you're here!
4) Come at least 10 minutes before class begins. This way you'll have time to warm up and calm your body and mind before class begins. Late arrivals are extremely disruptive to everyone else's peace.
5) First time students should arrive at least 15 minutes before class starts. We need to get you signed in, make sure you have a mat and towel and get you set up for a great first Bikram experience.
6) Please be perfume free - strong scents are hard on everyone else around you who is trying to breathe deeply. Many are also allergic to certain perfumes.
7) You want to come in on an empty stomach, so try not to eat for about 2 hours before class. You'll be much more comfortable.
8) Ask lots of questions, but please do so either before or after class. There will not be an opportunity to ask questions once it begins.
9) Please line the top of your mat up with the white numbers on the baseboards under the mirrors on the side walls, then roll the mat back towards the doors. That way, everyone will have ample room.
During Class
1) Please remember that a Bikram class is truly a 90-minute meditation.
2) Please don't talk in the yoga room. Many students use the time before class to quietly meditate and center themselves as they prepare for class. If you'd like to chat with a friend, the lobby is a great place to do so.
3) Do your very best to stay in the yoga room once class begins. If an emergency requires you to leave, please re-enter between postures as quietly as possible.
4) You will want to bring water into class with you. We'll let you know the appropriate times for water breaks. Don't worry - we promise we won't let you melt.
5) While you might want a hand towel to dry your hands for a good grip, wiping sweat is a bit futile. Believe us, you will continue to sweat and the sooner you can let that go, the easier you will find the class to be.
6) Practice stillness between postures. Stillness is peace. Peace is good.
7) Move into and out of the postures quietly. While drama in the postures seems difficult to avoid sometimes, remember that those around you are concentrating on their own practice.
8) Keep your focus on yourself in the mirror. It's that focus and peace thing again.
9) Please do not talk during class. We appreciate your input but it needs to be before or after class. Meditate - stillness - peace (it's a trend).
After Class
1) Please be as silent as possible after the final savasana, as this is where you integrate all of your hard work into your body and mind. Again, the lobby is a great place to hang out, share your experience and chat after class.
2) Leave the room quietly. Please be respectful of your classmates as they relax after class.
3) Return the rented mat to the white bins in the lobby.
4) Enjoy the peace, energy and exhilaration you take with you from class, and make up your mind to come back tomorrow!
